PORT ROYAL – Almost a year to the week after Port Royal Town Council made the decision to cancel the annual Independence Day Fireworks Display scheduled for July 4, the Port Royal community announced via Facebook the addition of a big event this Independence Day.

The Port Royal community, in conjunction with Rock Block Productions, is bringing Battery Creek Jam – billed as a first annual 4th of July Festival – to the area.

According to the release, the goal of this family-friendly event near Sands Beach is to bring the community back together through music and the promotion of local vendors.

The live music acts will be headlined by Atlanta’s Drivin N Cryin – members of the Georgia Music Hall of Fame – and Bluffton’s Zach Deputy. The festival will also include an inflatable water zone for the kids.

The event is free to the public with VIP upgrades available. Paid parking will be available. The event is not hosted by the Town of Port Royal.
