Sheriff’s Office Investigating Armed Robbery
LADY’S ISLAND, SC (July 16, 2012/10:00 AM) – The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an armed robbery that occurred early yesterday at a Lady’s Island gas station.
Just after 4:15 am yesterday morning, Sheriff’s deputies responded to the Circle K convenience store (114 Sea Island Pkwy) in reference to a robbery occurring moments earlier. Upon arrival, deputies met with an employee and several witnesses who had reported that the store had been robbed by two black male suspects.
The clerk advised that the two men entered the store, wearing ski masks and armed with handguns. The suspects demanded money and after stealing an undisclosed amount of cash and cigarettes, fled the store. Neither the clerk, nor several store patrons present at the time of the incident were harmed.
The suspects were last seen fleeing towards Youman’s Dr, where they are believed to have gotten into a waiting vehicle. Both were described as black males, approximately 6’00”, one wearing a long-sleeve white shirt and the other a dark hooded sweatshirt.
