Sea Island Quilt (SIQ) Guild held its raffle at noon on Dec. 21. The winning ticket was drawn by Ralph Rader husband of the current guild president Barb Rader, and the winner was Guild member Ann Davis. The theme of the quilt was “Hopeful Stitches” and was a collaborative effort by Pam Brown, Sam Cowan, and Lynn O’Neil. SIQ was founded in 1987 “to foster the art of quilting, to encourage high standards of design and techniques in all of its various forms, and to stimulate an interest in the goals within the community.” The guild meets on the third Thursday of every month at 6:30 p.m. at Carteret Street United Methodist Church, 408 Carteret Street, Beaufort.
