School-AMES1 — Children in the fourth grade at AMES (Advanced Math, Engineering, and Science) Academy at Beaufort Elementary went on a field trip on Thursday, Dec. 8, to visit the Challenger Learning Center (NASA) in Columbia. There these gifted and talented children learned how to command mission control and got to visit a simulation of the space station. They also had the opportunity to launch rockets. The fourth grade teachers included Mrs. Christensen and Mrs. Parker.
