Moon gazers were treated to a full “Pink” moon just after dusk Tuesday, as seen here rising above the trees on Cat Island. The term Pink Moon has nothing to do with the color or tint of the moon. Rather, it received its name after Native and Colonial Americans noticed all the pink Spring flower blossoms in full bloom under the full moon according the Farmer’s Almanac.
