Friends of Library cancel book sale

/

From staff reports

After considerable discussion, the Board of the Friends of the Beaufort Library has determined that the planned November Annual Book Sale at Waterfront Park will not take place in 2020.

“The Covid 19 public health crisis does not allow for the months of advance volunteer preparations,” President of Friends of the Beaufort Library Carol Brown said in an email to The Island News, “and it is considered inadvisable and untenable to hold a large public event in the foreseeable months.”

According to the email, Friends Book Stores at the Scott St. and St. Helena library branches will continue to offer exceptional bargains on good-condition used books and audio-visual materials during regular library hours.

The Board is also considering special sales in the coming months. Visit FriendsoftheBeaufortLibrary.com for updates.
