Bridges Prep earns ‘Good’ rating on state report card

Students at Bridges Prep are well-prepared and succeeding academically, according to the 2018 state report cards.

Bridges Prep elementary students rated “good” in both academic achievement and preparing for success, and “excellent” in student progress. In 2017, Bridges Prep was named a South Carolina School of Distinction for its academic scores and academic growth.

“We are proud of our students and our staff for the strong report card, but there is a good deal of room for improvement,” said Dee Matthews, chair of the Bridges Board of Directors. “As a career teacher and educator, I try to look at the big picture, and that is that Bridges Prep is trending in the right direction with academics, especially as we move into a full high school curriculum for the next school year.”

Middle school students at Bridges Prep also rated “good,” but with lower student progress and preparing for success. Because the school doesn’t have a full high school curriculum this year, it wasn’t rated for high school achievement.

A “good” rating means the school performance exceeds state standards. Bridges Prep’s report card and reports on all other South Carolina public and charter schools are available online at www.screportcards.com.
