Burton Fire & Rescue Goes Pink

/

By Gene Brancho  Burton Fire & Rescue has been wearing uniform shirts displaying some pink all October long, in addition to their regular uniform shirts, in support of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

October is known both nationally and worldwide as the time of year an international health campaign is in full swing, organized by major breast cancer charities to increase awareness of the disease, and to raise funds  for research into its cause, prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and cure.

There’s no shortage of support in the Beaufort area either.  With plenty of area events, restaurant  fundraisers, local businesses with pink displays and selling pink items, and even training classes available on how to ‘coordinate a breast cancer fundraiser’, there sure is widespread support for the cause, and it makes everyone think…real men wear pink

Chris Alewine, Chris Moyer, and Andrew Weight, of Burton Fire & Rescue.
