The Mark of stamps is shutting her doors

Janet Mark, a lifelong Beaufortonian and owner of Carolina Stamper, will be closing her business doors. She opened her business, affectionately known in Beaufort as “where the bubbles blow,” in 1998. Thousands of creative patrons have enjoyed her array of stamps, scrapbook materials, beads and more as well as the ongoing classes that Carolina Stamper offered.
Recently Mark lost her mother, Rose Mark, and the transition without her has been an eye opening period.
“I’ve decided stop and smell the ‘Roses’ while I can still sniff. I am very proud of the business that Carolina Stamper has become, and I know that could not have happened without my loyal customers,” explains Mark. “But as they say, all good things must come to an end.”
Carolina Stamper has marked all inventory down. Gradually, as inventory depletes, items will be given larger discounts. She will close the doors when the inventory is gone.Mark is calling this her retirement sale. Her friends and customers acknowledge the positive transition, but are still saddened by one of Beaufort’s staple businesses shutting its doors.
I am one of those customers. Janet, I wish you peace and happiness with your future plans. Thank you for giving us a place to call home where we learned to give our own homes a little more personality and a little bit of you.
