Celebrate the season at the Festival of Trees

The 2013 Festival of Trees to benefit Friends of Caroline Hospice will be held at the Shed in Port Royal from December 5 through 7. The Opening Gala will be Thursday, Dec. 5, from 6 to 9 p.m., and the public is invited to view the trees Friday, Dec. 6, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Saturday, Dec. 7, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The Opening Gala, a cocktail reception to kick off the three-day event, will feature a silent auction, hors d’oeuvres from area restaurants, music, beer and wine and a wealth of decorated trees from community members, businesses and Festival of Trees Logoorganizations. Trees will be available for purchase. Tickets are $50 and can be purchased online at www.fochospice.org/FOT.php or by calling 843-525-6257.

Also available for purchase prior to the event are fully cooked, vacuum sealed 6-8 lb Boston Butts for $30. Butts will be available for pickup on Saturday, Dec. 7 from noon to 3 p.m. To place an order, please email holidaybutts@gmail.com or call 843-525-6257.

Tickets to view the trees on Friday and Saturday are $2 for children,  $3 for active military and seniors over 65, and $5 for adults. Children under 2 are free.

The Festival of Trees Jingle Jog 5K Run/Walk will be held at the Spanish Moss Trail on Saturday, Dec. 7 at 8:30 a.m. Registration forms are at Palmetto Running Company. Or register online at www.fochospice.org/FOT.php or by calling 843-525-6257. Late registration will be Saturday, Dec. 7, at
7:30 a.m.
