More than 20,000 students filled classrooms countywide for the start of the school year.
More than 20,000 Beaufort County students began classes this week as the 2013-14 school year got under way.
Superintendent Jeff Moss said that a key focus for the district, this year and in future years, will be increasing the number and variety of instructional choices available to students.
“Our goal is to provide a diverse menu of choices,” Moss said. “Any parent who has more than one child knows that children learn in different ways, that they have their own unique interests and strengths. Our instructional approaches should reflect the diversity of the kids we serve.”
