Serving authentic Japanese and super sushi options at House of Tokyo

By Pamela Brownstein

For 14 years, the House of Tokyo has been serving delicious and authentic Japanese food to hungry Beaufortonians.

The Lunch Bunch started with a bowl of miso soup as well as edamame, gyoza (fried dumplings) and shumai (shrimp dumplings).

A variety of sushi rolls are served up beautifully.
A variety of sushi rolls are served up beautifully.

Since there are so many sushi rolls offered, we chose a variety to share such as the Spicy Tuna Roll; the Beaufort Roll made with fried salmon, crab and avocado; the Spider Roll made with soft shell crab; and the Rainbow Roll, a beautiful taste of tuna, salmon, snapper, shrimp and avocado.

The friendly and helpful owner Heesun also surprised us with two special items, the Dragon Roll and Volcano Roll.

In addition to the sushi rolls, we sampled the lunch special Yakiniku, marinated beef with vegetables, as well as the Lunch Box which includes a salad, dumplings, California Roll, rice and teriyaki chicken.

House of Tokyo Sushi Bar and Teppanyaki Restaurant is located off S.C. 170 in the Cross Creek Shopping Center, next to JC Penney. Hours are Monday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. For more information, call 843-521-9011 or visit www.houseoftokyobft.com or find them on Facebook.
