Arrest made in Sunday murder of 33-year-old Sheldon man

The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office has made an arrest in the Sunday murder of a Sheldon man.

On Sunday, May 18, 2025, shortly before 8 Pp.m., the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office was informed of a gunshot wound located in Sheldon on Kelly Road.
When deputies arrived at the residence, they discovered deceased 33-year-old Rashaun Snell suffering from several gunshot wounds.
Upon further investigation, deputies learned that Snell and 32-year-old Unique Ford had a verbal altercation that resulted in Ford shooting several times at Snell. Ford then tried to flee the scene in a green sedan but continued to flee on foot after crashing his vehicle.
Once learning this, deputies obtained three warrants on the 32-year-old Ford for Murder, Possession of a Weapon during a Violent Crime, and Aggravated Breach of Peace. Ford turned himself into the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office on Monday, May 19, 2025.
