- Sex, drugs and other sensitive subjects. Be open about your sex life, drinking, smoking and drug use. You won’t be judged.
- Financial struggles. If cost is an obstacle, your care team may be able to suggest ways for you to get treatment.
- How your life is going overall. Major life change and stress, like divorce, moving or a death, can affect health, too.
- Any symptoms, even if you’re embarrassed. Strange sensation, itch or smell? Don’t minimize or leave anything out. It could be important.
- Things you don’t understand. If you’re not sure about a medical term, a plan of action or anything else, speak up.
