Congressman Joe Wilson endorses Templeton for 1st Congressional District seat

S.C. Congressman Joe Wilson, a senior member of the House Armed Services Committee has endorsed Catherine Templeton in the Republican primary against Rep. Nancy Mace.

“Friends, we are facing serious challenges in our great nation and we need serious leaders. I want to share with you someone who can help us solve these challenges,” Wilson said in a release. “Catherine Templeton is smart, honest and dedicated and will make the Lowcountry proud.”

Templeton praised Wilson’s “servant leadership, decency, and hard work on behalf of South Carolina.”

Congressman Wilson serves on the powerful Armed Services Community and the Foreign Affairs Committee. He serves as Chairman of the Middle East, North Africa, and Central Asian Subcommittee. represents the 2nd Congressional District, which stretches from Orangeburg to North Augusta to Lexington.

The 1st District Republican Primary will be held on Tuesday, June 11. If a runoff is necessary, it will be held two weeks later on Tuesday, June 25.
