Young LIMS wrestling team starts season strong

From staff reports

The Lady’s Island Middle School wrestling team started off its season on Thursday, Dec. 4, with their first dual meet at River Ridge. With a smaller squad, LIMS just missed a team win, the difference being decided by the two forfeits in their lineup.

Coming away with pins were Lorenzo Comunale, Summer Estrella, Mason Winans, Ayden Washington, Jayden Fisher and Tashawn Williams.

LIMS competed on Friday, as well, as the team headed down to Hilton Head Island High School for their first tournament of the season. LIMS took third place out of 9 different schools in the new Girls Division. Coming home with gold medals were Summer Estrella and Londyn Clarke. Nyla Hardy took silver.

The Boys team was equally as determined and successful, coming in fourth out of the nine schools attending. The boys had six medalists, five of which were Silver. Taking second place were Lorenzo Comunale, Kameron Robinson, Mason Winans, Ayden Washington and Tashawn Williams.

Earning a very hard fought third place was Jayden Fisher in the 205 weight class. Jayden lost his first match, but pinned his next four opponents to bring home the Bronze.
