YMCA Adult Power Boating class to begin November 12

The Adult Power Boating class returns Nov. 12, 2015! The class will focus on teaching the DNR (Department of Natural Resources) boating education class and offer on-water training and experience in boat trailer launching & retrieval, boat operations, docking, navigation, GPS & radio use, knots and basic safety instruction. Each session includes a three hour evening class and a three hour hands-on training class at the dock located at the Port Royal Sound Foundation in Okatie.

Register by Octobter 31st because the class size is limited. Classroom session is Thursday, Nov. 12 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Y in Port Royal and on-water session is Saturday, November 14 from either 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. or from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. in Okatie. You must be age 18 or older. $125 per person and this program is open to the public. Contact the YMCA front desk or YMCA Boating Director Paul Spencer at 843-522-9622 for more information.
