Meet artists Pamela Corwin & Mark S. Holland

4 to 7 p.m., Friday, Oct. 23, Mystic Osprey Fine Art Gallery, Habersham Marketplace. Come and visit Mystic Osprey Fine Art Gallery to meet two gifted artists, Pamela Corwin and Mark S. Holland. Corwin is a South Carolina wildlife and fisheries biologist focusing on American Shad and Striped Bass. Corwin’s work is wildlife and outdoors related, and as her artistic voice developed, she became known in the biology community as the “Artistic Biologist.” Holland’s oils of woodland and wetlands scenes on wood panels look as if John Audubon had a long afternoon tipple with Lewis Carroll.

Beaufort High School Hackers Scramble Tournament

8:30 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 24, Olde Beaufort Golf Course, Lady’s Island. Shotgun start, 3-person teams. Prizes for Closest to the Pin, Longest Drive and Straightest Drive. GOP Get Out The Vote Tailgate Rally

Hocus Pocus on Screen on Green

6-8:30 p.m., Friday, Oct. 30, 205 Main Street in Hardeeville. The City of Hardeeville Parks, Recreation & Tourism Department is hosting a COVID friendly Screen on the Green Movie screening of Hocus Pocus as well as a socially distanced Costume Contest. The Drive-in Movie is a free event for the community. There will be prizes for the winners of the Costume Contest for ages 0-4, 5-8, 9-12 and 13-and-older. The event will be held behind City Hall. City of Beaufort Community Halloween Celebration

The City of Beaufort and a host of sponsors invite everyone to participate in a series of safe, and fun activities to celebrate Halloween and show off Beaufort spirit.

Pat Conroy Literary Festival

Thursday-Sunday, Nov. 5–8 in a virtual setting. This year’s festival will be held as a series of live-streamed author presentations and panel discussions, online writing workshops, exhibits, and virtual tours. The 2020 festival will be highlighted by appearances by Brad Taylor, former U.S. Army Special Forces officer and now the New York Times best-selling author of the Pike Logan thriller series; Elizabeth O’Neill Verner Award-winning artist Mary Whyte, author of We the People: Portraits of Veterans in America; and, from A Measure of Belonging: Twenty-One Writers of Color on the New American South, editor Cinelle Barnes and contributing writers Latria Graham and Gary Jackson.
