2020 Young Life Fishing Derby

Friday, Oct. 2 and Saturday, Oct. 3, The Captain’s Meeting will be at 6 p.m. Oct. 2 at Beaufort Boat and Dock, 1734 Ribaut Rd., Port Royal. The following morning, fishing will begin at 6 a.m., and weigh in will be from 4 to 6 p.m. at Beaufort Yacht and Sailing Club, 30 Yacht Club Dr. The weigh-in will be immediately followed by the awards ceremony and raffle drawings. There will be seven different qualifying species: redfish, trout, flounder, black drum, sheepshead, king mackerel and Spanish mackerel. Entry fee is $200. There is no limit to number of anglers on a boat. All tournament proceeds support Beaufort Young Life. Sunset Rotary Second Annual Mini Golf Tournament

10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 10, Pirates Island Adventure Golf, Hilton Head Island. The Hilton Head Sunset Rotary is holding its second annual mini golf tournament to benefit Hopeful Horizons and The Children Center. Hopeful Horizons is a children’s advocacy, domestic violence and rape crisis center that works to create safer communities by changing the culture of violence and offering a path to healing. The organization provides safety, hope and healing to survivors through evidence-based practices, outreach, prevention and education. The Children’s Center is a unique nonprofit organization that provides working families with affordable high-quality and accessible early childhood education and childcare services. The tournament costs $25 per adult and $15 per person for younger than 14. Participants are welcome to play any time. Gigantic Zonta Yard Sale

Proceeds will benefit all the Club’s many service projects in the community. Masks are required and social distancing maintained. Hole-In-One Contest features a new golf cart courtesy of Beaufort Carts. Tournament benefits the Beaufort High Girls Golf, Wrestling, and Softball teams.
