Atlantic Marine Corps Communities at Tri-Command will host the Beaufort Regional
Chamber of Commerce’s monthly Business After Hours on Thursday, May 12 from 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. Atlantic Marine Corps Communities at Tri-Command is located at 299 Birch Drive in Laurel Bay.

United Hospice will be hosting a BEREAVEMENT SUPPORT GROUP
The bereavement support group is open to the community (free) on the 2nd Thursday of each month through June. Upcoming dates are May 12 and June 9. The group meets from 3pm-4:30pm at United Hospice, 1605 North Street, Beaufort, SC.

ALLIANCE TO HOST LUNCH WITH SC SECRETARY OF COMMERCE BOBBY HITT
The Beaufort Regional Chamber of Commerce and the Lowcountry
Economic Network & Alliance will host a lunch featuring SC Secretary of Commerce Bobby Hitt and Deputy Secretary George Patrick on Thursday, May 12 at 12:00 p.m. at the Albergotti Grill, located inside the Beaufort Holiday Inn located at 2225 Boundary Street.
Hitt and Patrick will be discussing economic development and business issues facing the Lowcountry and State of South Carolina.
This event is available to Chamber and Network members for $10 and all others for $20. Lunch is included in the price.
Sportfishing and Diving Club to Meet
The May meeting for the Beaufort Sportsfishing and Diving Club will be held Thursday May 12th at the Beaufort Yacht and Sailing Club located off of Meridian Road on Ladys Island. The social begins at 6:30 and the meeting begins at 7:00. Jason Owens, the owner of Sea Island Divers and Sea Jay Bayne of Deep South Divers and Kym Harrington have a special treat in store during the social and at the beginning of the meeting. Locally recovered sharks teeth will be displayed and underwater videos will be part of their presentation. The Club is also delighted that well known Captain Judy will be on hand with her other Captains for a presentation on Flounder. How, when, and where to catch these delicious delicacies of the sea. For the offshore anglers, Captain Judy will give only a few special tricks of the trade which always proves to be truly entertaining.

Pesticide Training – Private Applicator & Commercial Applicator Re-certification
There will be a Private Pesticide Applicator Training on Monday, May 23, 2011 at the Clemson Extension Office, 102 Beaufort Industry Village Road (off Burton Hill Road) from 8:30 A.M. to 3:00 P.M.
The Private Pesticide Applicator Training is for persons who wish to obtain a Private Applicator License. Obtaining a license will allow you to purchase Restricted Use Pesticides in the production of an agricultural commodity (products from farms, nurseries, greenhouses, and forests) on land that you, or your employers own, rent, or lease.
Commercial and Private Pesticide Applicators can attend this training and receive 5 credit hours toward their Re-certification.
The training program is sponsored by Clemson University Extension Service. To register for the training or for additional information, please call the Clemson Extension Office at (843) 255-6060. The cost for the training is $50.00. Lunch is included.
