Whale Branch drops game at Bishop England, 26-21

Whale Branch dropped a Region 6-AA opener on Friday night, falling to host Bishop England 26-21 in a hard fought football game.

Whale Branch dropped to 2-4 overall and 0-1 in Region 6-AA with the loss. With the win, Bishop England improved to 2-4 overall and 1-0 in Region 6-AA. Familiar foes, Whale Branch and Bishop England swapped leads in the region matchup at Jack Cantey Stadium. Bishop England, however, managed to hang on for the win.

Whale Branch, under the tutelage of head coach Jerry Hatcher, enjoyed its share of momentum in the region high school football contest. Leading Whale Branch offensively, running back D.J. Davis rushed for 153 yards. Quarterback Jamar Scott completed 4-of-5 passes for 50 yards for the Warriors.

Whale Branch has dropped additional games to Hilton Head Island, Beaufort High and Bluffton. The Warriors own wins over St. John’s and Windsor Forest. Whale Branch is due back in action on Friday, Oct. 16.when they will visit North Charleston for a game versus Academic Magnet.
