WB girls pick up lopsided region victory

The Whale Branch girls rolled to another region win Friday, overwhelming visiting Bamberg-Ehrhardt 50-10. 

Kynew Barnwell scored 20 points, Heaven Grant drained four 3-pointers for 12 points, and Zhani Thompson added nine points to lead the Warriors.

Whale Branch held the Red Raiders to just three field goals, two of which came in a six-point first quarter.

The Warriors picked up another big region win on the road Tuesday, winning 44-30 at Allendale-Fairfax.

Thompson continued her hot streak with 20 points — including a trio of 3-pointers — while Barnwell added 12 points, and Diaz had eight to lead the Warriors. 

Warriors make quick work of Red Raiders

With their star back on the court, the Whale Branch boys got back to their winning ways Friday, routing visiting Bamberg-Ehrhardt 81-53. 

Shawn Chisolm led the Warriors with 21 points, Javon Hogue added 14, and Nick Pringle scored 12 in his return after missing Tuesday’s loss to Allendale-Fairfax with the flu. 

Shemar Williams contributed 10 points for Whale Branch. 

The Warriors suffered their first region loss Tuesday, falling 63-62 in overtime at Allendale-Fairfax, with Pringle sidelined due to illness. Shawn Chisolm poured in a game-high 29 points to help the Warriors rally from a five-point halftime deficit, but Whale Branch came up short in OT. Jaylin Parrales added 10 points for Whale Branch.
