Warriors 6th, Eagles 8th in latest football poll

Whale Branch climbed two spots to No. 6 in Class 1A, and Beaufort High made its debut at No. 8 in Class 4A in the South Carolina Prep Media Football Poll released Tuesday.

The Warriors (3-0) moved up after a thrilling 21-20 win at Baptist Hill, setting up a road clash with Cross on Friday with the region title up for grabs. 

The Eagles (2-0) dominated May River 37-14 last week and will look to remain undefeated when they host Bluffton (0-3) at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
