USCB soccer star Gignilliat receives NAIA All-America honorable mention

USCB soccer standout Anna Gignilliat received Honorable Mention on the NAIA All-America Women’s Soccer Team released Wednesday, Dec. 11. 

The NAIA All-America Committee, which consists of the NAIA-Women’s Soccer Coaches’ Association officers and seven additional women’s soccer coaches, selected the three 11-member teams and the honorable mention teams.

Gignilliant, a senior forward, joins 25 other forwards on the NAIA All-American Honorable Mention list, and she was one of six Sun Conference players on the list. Overall, there were 13 total players from the league that earned All-America status.

Gignilliat had a record-breaking senior season for USCB, as she totaled 15 goals during the 2019 season. Gignilliat shattered three single-season USCB records — goals (15), points (32) and game-winning goals (4). In the career record book, the Mount Pleasant native moved up in several offensive categories and finished her career ranked second in goals (23), second in points (53), second in total shots (124), tied for second in game-winning goals (5) and tied for fifth in assists (7).
