A child was injured severely last night after falling from a 3rd floor balcony at the Cross Creek Apartments in Beaufort. Investigators with the Beaufort Police Department said the injuries to the child were intentional.
The responding police officers found a toddler with severe injuries from a fall and some other questionable additional injuries. The child was taken to Beaufort Memorial Hospital and then to the Medical University of South Carolina, in Charleston, for medical treatment.
The child’s mother, Shayla Bryan, has been arrested and charged with attempted murder.
