TCL to hold groundbreaking celebration for Workforce Training Center

The Technical College of the Lowcountry will hold a Groundbreaking Celebration for its new Arthur E. Brown Regional Workforce Training Center at 11 a.m., Friday, April 26 at its New River Campus at 100 Community College Drive in Bluffton.

When completed, the Arthur E. Brown Regional Workforce Training Center will be a 50,000-square-foot facility with a capacity for up to 850 students. Programs offered will include manufacturing, automated systems, logistics, business, computer technology and more.

The groundbreaking will honor retired U.S. Army Gen. Arthur E. Brown. A longtime supporter of TCL, Gen. Brown served as founding chair of the TCL Foundation and served for 23 years on TCL’s Area Commission.

In addition to Gen. Brown and his friends and family, others of note in attendance will include TCL’s president, faculty, staff and various board members; S.C. Sen. Tom Davis (R-Beaufort); S.C. Rep Bill Herbkersman (R-Beaufort); and other community leaders.
