All-Lowco Football Team to be announced Sunday

LowcoSports will announce its 2020 All-Lowco Football Teams live on Facebook on Sunday night.

For the first time, LowcoSports will honor the top football stars in Beaufort and Jasper counties with separate All-Lowco Teams for SCHSL schools and SCISA schools, as well as an honorable mention list.

Special awards will include the Coach of the Year, Offensive Player of the Year, and Defensive Player of the Year for both SCHSL and SCISA. 

The team will be announced during a live broadcast of the LowcoSports Lowdown podcast streamed on Facebook Live beginning at 8 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 3.

Local businesses can become a supporting sponsor of the All-Lowco Football Teams for $200 and receive marketing benefits including a logo and weblink on the All-Lowco Team page, as well as mentions on social media and during the live broadcast. Email LowcoSports@gmail.com for information.

BA girls drop tourney opener

Beaufort Academy’s girls returned to action Monday with a 49-37 loss to Palmetto Christian in the Carolina Invitational. 

Mike’Ala Washington scored 14 points, Tahleea Heyward added 11, and Chase Vaigneur had six for the Eagles.

BA (4-4) was back in action at the tournament Tuesday.
