Riptide reviving 10U travel team

Local baseball players looking for a travel team will have an option closer to home this season.

Coaches Jeremiah Young and Brackin Lambert are reviving the Beaufort Riptide program with plans to field a 12U team this fall and eventually add more age groups. Young and Lambert say they are committed to providing a quality, affordable opportunity for players to develop their skills in a competitive environment.

The team will hold tryouts from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 7, and from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 8, at the Beaufort Academy baseball field. In order to be eligible, players cannot turn 13 before May 31, 2021.
