U.S. Marine Corps Sgt. Nicholas Soto, a maintenance controller with Marine Fighter Attack Training Squadron (VMFAT) 502, Marine Aircraft Group 11, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing (MAW) – and a Beaufort native – demonstrates how Marines maintain the F-35B Lightning II via a digital model to Assistant Secretary of the Navy Russell Rumbaugh (Financial Management and Comptroller), July 25, on Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, California. Rumbaugh visited 3rd MAW to observe and discuss first-hand U.S. Marine aviation funding, equipment and capabilities and inform his priorities as the manager of the Department of the Navy’s annual budget.
