Shelter receives 4,000 pounds of food

Tuesday, March 4, the Beaufort County Animal Shelter received 4,000 pounds of cat and dog food after winning a competition on Facebook.

Food won on Facebook 2“We are very grateful for this amount of food, but we also know how much other shelters need food too, so we are going to share some of the winnings,” said Beaufort County Animal Shelter Director Tallulah Trice.

On Wednesday, March 5, Maranatha Farm Animal Rescue arrived at the Beaufort County Animal Shelter to take some food. Then later in the day, food was taken to the Tabby House in Beaufort and the Hilton Head Humane Association for their feral cat program.
