Sharks, Seahawks take care of business in region quad

Region frontrunners May River and Hilton Head High took care of business against rivals Beaufort High and Bluffton, and the Eagles knocked off the Bobcats in the finale of a four-team Region 7-4A dual meet Wednesday at HHIHS.

The first-place Sharks remained perfect in region duals with a 64-15 win over Beaufort and a 77-4 rout of crosstown rival Bluffton, while the Seahawks solidified their grip on second place with a 63-15 win over the Bobcats and a 57-23 triumph over the Eagles.

Beaufort capped the night with a 48-21 victory over the Bobcats to position the Eagles for a third-place finish in the region.

Beaufort’s Adam Burvenich and Colton Phares were 3-0, and Burvenich recorded three pins, while John Legree and Ian Newell each won twice.

Beaufort is 1-2 in region matches and was slated to travel to Colleton County on Wednesday before hosting the Region 7-4A individual qualifier Saturday
