Red Cross Blood Drive

The next Carteret Street United Methodist Church-sponsored American Red Cross Blood Drive will be held on Thursday, August 4, in the Fellowship Hall from noon until 6 p.m. ARC blood is distributed throughout the world and is the primary source for blood used by the U.S. military services. To be eligible to donate you must be 17 years old and weigh at least 110 pounds; each donor will have a thorough medical screening to ensure safety of the donor and the blood supply. For the 1-866 number, after you get an answer press 2 (Option 2) for a Savannah-based operator to make your appointment. For the web site, you must register the first time and then for subsequent appointments, you just log on with your user name and PIN and make an appointment. The site is very easy to follow.
