Panini’s Cafe Victim of Overnight Smash-and-Grab Break-in

By Gene Brancho:

Panini’s Cafe was the victim of an overnight break-in.  Thieves smashed through the back glass doors of the restaurant sometime after 2:30 Monday morning, and made off with a 700 lb safe that they carried up two flights of stairs and placed on a hand cart that was left behind at the scene.  The restaurants liquor room was also broken into, and some of the bottles were taken also.

Investigators with the City of Beaufort Police Department are on the scene right now, and when we receive more information, we’ll pass it along to you.
