Robert Lee Singleton

Robert Lee Singleton was born in Memorial Hospital, Savannah, Georgia on August 7, 1960, to Fannie Curry Singleton and Tyrone Singleton. He departed this life on March 8, 2021.

He is survived by his mother Fannie Curry Lynch, and his sister Daphne Stokes (Lloyd Stokes) of Cleveland, Ohio; aunt Ann Lee (Walter Lee) of Savannah, Georgia; uncle Gary Sterling of Australia; aunt Jessie Curry Bates (Otis Bates) of Atlanta, Georgia; and Robert’s children and grand-children.

Preceding Robert in death are grandmother Jessie Wilson of Savannah, Georgia; grandfather Rev. Albert Curry (Naomi Curry) of Cleveland, Ohio; grandmother Mary Sterling of St. Helena Island, South Carolina; grandfather James Willis of Cleveland, Ohio; aunt Bessie Blake; uncle Willie Curry; great-aunt Fannie Wilson Banks (Johnny Banks) of Cincinnati, Ohio; great-aunt Westie Curry (Johnny Curry). 

Robert Lee’s mother and family would like to thank God mother Doris Johnson, cousin Janice Harris, neighbor Lilian Simmons Scott, all of St. Helena Island, South Carolina, all of Robert’s nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, and Pastor Woodrow Daniels, Jr. of Lobeco, South Carolina for being with him in his lifetime.

Robert Lee frequently visited his family and friends in Savannah, Georgia and Cleveland, Ohio. Robert loved his family and going to church and declared himself a Bishop. He attended school to become a baker with a special love for fruit cake. 

Services were held at 4pm on Friday, April 2, 2021 at Chisholm Galloway Home for funerals in Beaufort, South Carolina and a graveside service was held at 12pm on Saturday, April 3, 2021 at Riverside Cemetery, St. Helena Island, South Carolina.
