NOTICE OF APPLICATON

Notice of application is hereby given that Larry N. Holman & The Beaufort County Black Chamber of Commerce intends to apply to the U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development Department for a Housing Preservation Grant. This grant will allow The Beaufort County Black Chamber of Commerce to assist low and very low-income homeowners in repairing and rehabilitating their homes in rural areas. These areas will consist of Beaufort and Jasper county in South Carolina. In addition, the HPG program assists rental property owners and cooperative housing complexes in repairing and rehabilitating their units if they agree to make such units available to low and very low-income persons.

To object to this application for assistance, written protest must be postmarked no later than May 1, 2020. For a protest to be valid, it must be in writing, and should include the following information:

 

  1. The name, address and telephone number of the person filing the protest;

 

  1. The specific reasons why the application should be denied;

 

  1. That the person protesting is willing to attend a hearing (If one is requested by the applicant);

 

  1. That the person protesting resides in the same county where the proposed place of business is located or within five miles of the business; and
