Marine Corps puts out notice to mariners

Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island will conduct extended live-fire training beginning at 6:30 a.m. on July 31, and ending at approximately 2 a.m. on Aug. 1.

The marsh and waterways in the range impact area, including Archers Creek, Ribbon Creek, and Edding Creek, will be closed to boater traffic.

County seeks to fill vacancy on election board

The Board of Voter Registration and Elections of Beaufort County is seeking to fill a vacancy on the Board.

This member will be responsible for selecting poll workers for precincts in the Sun City area, in addition to serving the County’s voting population. 

Applicants must be a registered voter in Beaufort County with the ability to become certified by the SC State Election Commission within 18 months of appointment by the governor.

Previous poll worker experience is preferred.
