Sheriff’s Office investigating shootings
Early Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2013, Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a report of multiple gunshots fired on Spann Circle in the Sheldon Community. Deputies responding to the incident location were advised that a 22-year-old male arrived at the Sheldon Fire Department with a gunshot wound to the buttocks. The victim and witnesses said they were attending a party at a club located behind 115 Spann Circle when an unknown black male began discharging an automatic weapon. Witnesses described the shooter as a black male, approximately 6 feet tall, 170-180 pounds with dread locks and a beard.
While deputies were at the first shooting location Wednesday morning, they heard gunshots in the area of Keans Neck Road. Deputies were notified that a second gunshot victim had arrived at the Shelton Fire Department with a gunshot to the lower back. The 24-year-old female was transported to the fire department by several individuals who had been in the car with her when she got shot. The witnesses reported that a black male driving a brown truck had fired several shots into their vehicle as they were traveling on Keans Neck Road.
The Sheriff’s Office is requesting that if you have information on the suspects or the vehicle described in the second shooting as a brown truck, please call Crimestoppers or the Sheriff’s Office.
