County spraying for mosquitoes

Beaufort County Mosquito Control may conduct aerial and/or ground treatments through Frday, Dec. 11. Mosquito Control applies EPA-registered public health insecticide during ideal weather using low-flying aircraft throughout daylight hours and spray trucks from about 11 p.m. to 6:30 a.m.

MCRD Parris Island conducting live-fire training

Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island will be conducting live-fire training from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 12. The marsh and waterways in the range impact area to include Archers Creek, Ribbon Creek, and Edding Creek will be closed to boater traffic.

County launches penny tax website

Beaufort County announced Dec. 4 the launch of the official website for the One Cent Sales Tax Program. The site is designed to offer citizens quick and easy access to information and provide the avenue for project updates and community feedback.

Since the implementation of the one-cent tax in 2018, our county has been preparing for these projects that will improve the lives of all Beaufort County citizens. Visit www.beaufortcountypenny.com for more information the penny tax is affecting the community.
