New arrivals ring in 2026

The first day of 2026 brought extra joy to the Beaufort Memorial Collins Birthing Center as four families from Ridgeland and Beaufort welcomed their newest arrivals.

Two tiny party animals joined Beaufort families — baby girl Solani arrived at 8:19 a.m., weighing 6 pounds, born to Haley Cordova and Clifton Johnson, while baby girl Charley heralded the new year by joining parents Jonna and Charles Karnes at 6:56 p.m., weighing 7 pounds, 2 ounces.

Baby boy Korine, 8 pounds and 11 ounces, arrived in the wee hours of the morning (2:12 a.m.) to Ridgeland parents Ayanna Mungin and Nakel Pinckney.

Also born to Ridgeland parents was baby boy Kanan, born to Diamond Williams and TyQuan Swinton at 12:10 pm and weighing 7 pounds, 1 ounce.
