On May 3, 2023, Larry Mathias shot his age for the 1,000th time on Fripp Island’s Ocean Creek Golf Course. This is an incredible feat and has been accomplished by fewer than 1% of all golfers. Mathias has been a Fripp Island resident since 1998 and shot his age for the first time at age 70. He continues to play regularly at Fripp Island and continues to increase his total.
