LWV meeting to present Keyserling’s ‘Sharing Common Ground’

From staff reports

The League of Women Voters Beaufort Area invites the public to join them online at 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 11 for their next monthly meeting – a special presentation of former Beaufort Mayor Billy Keyserling’s “Sharing Common Ground – Promises Unfulfilled but Not Forgotten.”

The former mayor will discuss why he is so passionate that today, more than any other time in our country’s recent history, there is a need to educate everyone on the misunderstood era known as Reconstruction.

What has been omitted from our history books over the last century comes to light in the book, translating the lessons of the past to a brighter future for generations to come. With racial tensions in our country at an all time high, this book could not have come at a better time.

The Zoom meeting is free and open to the public. Advance registration is required. Either access the live registration link at the league website, www.LWVBeaufort.org, on Facebook event at the League of Women Voters Beaufort Area page or access the following link: https://bit.ly/3te8vul.

After registering, users will receive a confirmation email with instructions for joining the meeting.
