LWV celebrating 100 years of history

The League of Women Voters Beaufort Area is inviting the public to join a celebration of Women’s History by honoring the history of their state League.

The League is hosting a Zoom meeting, free and open to the public, at 6 p.m., Thursday, March 11.

Four guests will join the meeting to discuss the history of the League.

1. Sheila Haney, former President of the South Carolina State League and the Darlington League, will share some stories of the South Carolina League’s history from her recently released book, “In Her Shoes.”

2. Lynn Teague, of Columbia and Vice-President of Issues and Action of the League of Women Voters of South Carolina, will provide everyone with an update on voter-related legislation.

3. Holley Ulbrich of Clemson and Christe McCoy-Lawrence of Holly Hill, co-presidents of the League of Women Voters of South Carolina, will talk about current League priorities and focus.
