LTDW3 Painting presentation

On Monday, October 8, Donnie Beer, treasurer of The Independence Fund, accepted a check from Paul Fuetterer and presented him with a painting created onstage during the Lt. Dan Weekend 3 Lt. Dan Band concert. The painting depicts an American flag and was done by artist Scott LoBaido. It was sold to Fuetterer of Cat Island for $15,000 and proceeds go to the nonprofit Independence Fund which helps severely wounded veterans of recent wars. The painting was signed by the artist and by Oscar-winning film star Gary Sinise.
At left in the picture is Capt. John “Woody” Woodall who performs as an Elvis Impersonator and has served as a tireless volunteer during LDW fundraising events. Captain Woodall was the Chief of Operations with the North Carolina Fallen Firefighters Foundation. After September 11, 2001, Captain Woodall was appointed the official liaison for New York FDNY families, to assist the families of 343 firefighters who were killed that day. Captain Woodall is also an Elvis Tribute Artist and July 4, 2003, performed for the families of 9-11 at Shea Stadium for a family appreciation ceremony.
