It’s always amazing what one can see during a mostly cloudless night in Beaufort. Here, a nearly full moon breaks the horizon between a couple pine trees Sunday evening, July 30. The full Sturgeon Moon rose Tuesday, Aug. 1, while the full Blue Moon will rise August 30. The full Harvest Moon will peak Saturday, Sept. 23. Look closely and one can see an almost pinkish tint to moon’s surface. Bob Sofaly/The Island News
