Lowcountry-based musician Mahoganee Amiger, also known as the Sea Island SongBird, recently released “Collard Green Crown.” The album cover artwork is from “The Collard Series,” which was painted by actress, storyteller, educator and visual artist Natalie Daise, who was on the Nick Jr. TV Series “Gullah Gullah Island.” She was inspired by a profile picture that Amiger had posted on her Facebook page. Daise, who is affectionately known as “Gullah Mama,” said Collard Greens represents heritage, history and family gatherings. For more information, visit www.facebook.com/MahoganeeAmiger.
