Hair you wear

By Takiya Smith

I have received tons of inquiries and interest regarding hair extensions and with that in mind, let’s take a quick course in Hair Extensions 101. Hair extensions, for the uninformed, are just that: an extension to your hair. Hair extensions range in multiple textures, colors, lengths and materials.

Extensions can add length, fullness and color and can be customized to just about any particular client out there. To begin with, the foundation in which the look, feel and longevity in which your extensions are built upon depends on the selection of material. For a natural look, feel and longevity, my personal choice is human hair. There are several ranges of synthetic hair on the market which look and feel human, however, are short lived and offer less flexibility in styling. 100% human hair extensions can be colored, heat styled and chemically altered to suit as well as blend with your own hair. Hair extensions are a great alternative for individuals not wanting to chemically alter or color their own hair, and can be applied in a plethora of techniques.

Among the most popular, and gracing the heads of most celebrity icons, are Fusion and Micro Link hair extensions. Each method is literally a strand-by-strand technique that allows a light, long term and non-detectable flexibility to styling. Fusion and Micro Link can last for up to six months with routine maintenance to keep hair healthy and manageable.

Hair extensions are not just for the young and don’t necessarily have to come long, so grab a magazine, find a favorite style and give me a call! Beautique Lash & Brow now specializes in several methods of hair extensions to fit any hair type and are suitable for all.
