Gun safety rally set for Saturday

From staff reports

June is Gun Violence Awareness Month and a local “roadside sign/poster-waving” event is scheduled Saturday, June 25 starting at 11 a.m., at the corner of Ribaut Road and Boundary Street.

Organized by the S.C. Moms Demand Action organization, the event is designed to remind the public of the crisis surrounding gun violence.

Participants are asked to wear red Moms Demand Action T-shirts or the orange Moms Against Violence colors.

Organizers are asking citizens to urge the U.S. Senate to continue its work on a bipartisan framework for gun safety legislation.
