Lady’s Island Medical Center, a new primary care office, will host a grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony at 4 p.m. Tuesday, November 12, at its office at 97 Sea Island Parkway, Ste. 203, Lady’s Island. The practice is located near Upper Crust at The Shoppes at Hamilton Village. Food and beverages will be served and tours of the office will be provided. Attendees will have a chance to meet the office staff and Dr. Pamela Edwards, a board certified family medicine physician who treats patients of all ages.
Dr. Edwards was a family medicine physician for the U.S. Naval Hospital Beaufort. She provides a full range of family medicine services including comprehensive primary care, chronic disease screening and management, geriatrics, pediatric care, physicals for school and sports, preventative medicine and women’s health care.
Dr. Edwards’ health care experience includes working in both military and civilian clinics. At Naval Hospital Beaufort, she served as an active duty member in the U.S. Navy Medical Corps. Her work there earned her several “Excellence in Action” awards. Dr. Edwards received her medical degree from the Mercer University School of Medicine in Macon, Ga., and completed a family medicine residency at Floyd Medical Center in Rome, Ga. Dr. Edwards also has bachelor’s degrees in biology and French from Shorter College.
Practice hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Tricare, Medicare, Medicaid, self-pay and most private insurances are accepted.
