Five amazing websites everyone should use

By Jerod Collins

What do you do when you are on the web? Do you just use it to check out the news, weather, and email before heading to work? Would you like to get more out of your web surfing experience? Well, there are a bunch of awesome websites that allow you access to many different types of content. No matter what you are looking for (news, music, crazy videos) there is a website out there that has it. Here is a list of the best sites out there.

1. Youtube.com (Content: Videos)  This site is definitely a no-brainer. You can find just about any video about anything on YouTube. Whether you are looking for a recipe, DIY project, help on a technical issue or just want to be entertained by something, just type it in the search bar, and you might just be amazed at what you find. (Warning, can be addictive!)

2. Facebook.com (Content: Varied) Everyone knows about this site, but did you know you can use it to do much more than just talk with family and friends? It is a giant social media experience! You can use it to keep up with all of your favorite stars and idols. You can also use it to support small business in your area as well. That is what that little “like” button does. It allows you to follow others and lets you see the content that others put out. That is how I personally inform people of amazing tech breakthroughs and give people cools tips about the technology they use. (“Like” Digital Remedi on Facebook and you will receive the Daily Dose, small tips for your everyday tech life!)

3. Pandora.com (Content: Music) This is one of my personal favorites. When you open the site, you type in what genres of music you like or your favorite artists and Pandora creates a music playlist for you that you can listen to for FREE! It is great to play in the background when you are busy working on a project or to play around the house when you are cleaning. Pandora is a great way to learn about new music as well. Give it a try, I know you won’t be disappointed.

4. Howcast.com (Content: Do-It-Yourself) If you have ever wanted to make something, cook something, build something, or do something that you have no idea of how to do, this is the site you want to visit. It is the ultimate Do-it-Yourself site!

5. Lifehacker.com (Content: Awesome stuff and things that will make your life easier.) Lifehacker.com is one of my favorites because it gives you ideas and insight into things that you might not have thought of before. I have learned a lot of little things to make my life easier from this site and I know you will too.

The Internet is full of information, too much information to count. The main thing to know about the Internet is how to get to that information. Thankfully, we have Google to help us. I hope that you will try these sites out for yourself and see what awesome things they hold.
