Price of Beaufort named to New Hampshire’s Dean’s List

Hayden Price of Beaufort has been named to the Dean’s List at the University of New Hampshire for earning High Honors for the fall 2019 semester. Price is majoring in History.

Students named to the Dean’s List at the University of New Hampshire are students who have earned recognition through their superior scholastic performance during a semester enrolled in a full-time course load (12 or more graded credits).

Highest honors are awarded to students who earn a semester grade point average of 3.85 or better out of a possible 4.0. Students with a 3.65 to 3.84 average are awarded high honors and students whose grade point average is 3.5 through 3.64 are awarded honors.

Riverview Charter re-enrollment applications due

Re-enrollment applications for the 2020-2021 school year at Riverview Charter School are due by 4:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 31. All students must re-enroll each year.

If you have a child attending Riverview and another child who will be applying as a new student for the 2020-2021 school year, parents must complete a Re-Enrollment Application for the child returning to Riverview and a New Student Application for the sibling(s) who are applying to attend. All applications are available online through the school’s website.

2 from Beaufort graduate from Coastal Carolina

More than 700 students, including two from Beaufort, were eligible to participate in commencement ceremonies at Coastal Carolina University on Dec. 17, 2019, marking the last class of the decade to graduate from CCU.

Beaufort’s Shaeffer Jenkins (29907) earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in management, while Beaufort’s E’lexus Speaks (29906) earned a Bachelor of Science in exercise and sport science.

“Gullah Gullah Island’s” Ron Daise, vice president for creative education at Brookgreen Gardens, was the special speaker during the two commencement cerimonies in Conway.

“Realize this day marks only the beginning of continued education. You have not yet reached the pinnacles of understanding, self-awareness, or wisdom. As said by Albert Einstein, ‘intellectual growth should commence at birth and cease only at death.’ Stay hungry for knowledge,” Daise said.

Daise is known by many as “Mr. Ron” on Nick Jr.’s award-winning and internationally broadcasted television program, “Gullah Gullah Island,” for which he and his wife Natalie performed in starring roles.

A dozen Beaufort students honored at Coastal Carolina

Three Beaufort students were among the more than 800 Coastal Carolina University students named to the President’s List for the Fall 2019 semester.

Political Science major Will Durbin (29907), Theatre major Xavier Jackson (29902) and Communications major Kenneth Sitkowski (29907) earned the honors.

To be named to the President’s List, students must achieve a 4.0 grade point average (GPA) for the semester.

Nine Beaufort students were named to the Dean’s List for the Fall 2019 semester for a grade point average between 3.5-3.99.

The students earning recognition were Ebony Beasley an Exercise and Sport Science major (29901); Zachary Bogle, a Management Pre-Major major (29905); James Bozeman, an Information Technology major (29902); Devin Hyatt, an Information Technology major (29907); Derek Kidd, a Recreation and Sport Management major (29906); Rachel Kirberger, a Hospitality Resort and Tourism Management major (29907); Zoe Lyons, a Marine Science major (29906); Micayla Monroe, a Marine Science major (29906); and Kyla Sebastian, a Management major (29906).

Auerbacher named to Delaware’s Dean’s List

William Auerbacher of Beaufort (29904) has been named to the University of Delaware’s Dean’s List for the Fall 2018 semester.

To meet eligibility requirements for the Dean’s List, a student must be enrolled full-time and earn a GPA of 3.5 or above (on a 4.0 scale) for the semester.

SD Mines names Beaufort’s Boss to Fall 2019 Dean’s List

For the fall 2019 semester, Beaufort’s Andrew Boss was one of 616 South Dakota School of Mines & Technology students named to the Dean’s List.

In order to merit a spot on the Dean’s List, students must earn a grade point average of 3.5 or higher for the semester. Full-time students must have earned a minimum of 12 credit hours for the term, while part-time students must have earned between three and 11 credit hours that term.
